Threshold PEP
The Threshold IMT and PEP uses a flow-independent one-way valve to ensure consistent resistance and also features adjustable specific pressure settings, which will be set by the healthcare professional beforehand.
When patients exhale through Threshold PEP, the resistive load creates a positive pressure (Positive Expiratory Pressure). This pressure helps to open the airways and allows mucus to be expelled during forced expiration techniques such as huffing and coughing.
The Threshold IMT (Inspiratory Muscle Trainer) features a spring-loaded valve providing resistance to train the respiratory muscles through conditioning.
Both devices feature specific variable pressure, the PEP is adjustable per cm H20, the IMT per 2 cm H2O. Since the devices provide a constant pressure (flow-independent), there is no need for a pressure indicator.
The Threshold PEP and IMT will be delivered with a mouth piece, but can also be used with a mask. They are easy to clean and made of durable, high-impact acrylic.

Cleaning Advice
Please clean after each session with water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly with water. Remove excess water by shaling gently and let the threshold device air-dry. Never put in boiling water or heat.
